Fees and Deposits

Charter bus prices are quoted on an individual basis. If fuel prices rise more than 50 cents per gallon from the time of contract signature, there may be a fuel surcharge added to the original quote. The driver’s accommodations are provided for by the customer unless otherwise arranged. The charter deposit is due within ten days of receiving the contract and full payment is required 45 days in advance of the trip. Failure to submit the deposit may result in a cancellation of the charter. The deposit is refundable if your charter is canceled prior to the final payment date on your contract.

Gratuities

Driver gratuity is left to the customer’s discretion. Common gratuity rates are $2.00-$4.00 per passenger, per day, depending on the level of service received.

Prohibited Substances

Ionosphere Tours does not allow smoking, drugs, alcohol, animals (except guide dogs), meals or glass bottles on any coach.

Federal Regulations

All Ionosphere Tour drivers are subject to regulations from the Department of Transportation and Bureau of Motor Carrier Safety which states that drivers are limited to:

• 15 consecutive hours on duty in any one day.
• Of these 15 hours, a maximum of 10 hours may be actual driving hours.
• Upon reaching a destination and the driver’s total driving hours have been used, the driver must have a minimum of eight (8) hours off duty before local service may be performed or to begin an extended period of driving.

Ionosphere Tours is not liable for damage to or loss of baggage or other property. Baggage and all other property will be handled at the passenger’s risk and only in an amount that can be conveniently carried in the storage areas of the charter coach. Any damage to the coach by the charter party will be charged by the carrier to the charter party.
